Será un privilegio estrenar en un festival dedicado a los documentales “verdes” de temática medioambiental más antiguos de España. Apox Film Festival in Losinj island, Croatia
In october also, if, as we hope , world has returned to normality we will travel to Croatia to screen at the official selection of International Film Festival of Apox. A meeting exclusive for documentaries, quite new but with a high level after watching a bit the rest of the program. It will be a privilege to have a premiere in Croatia, a place with a filming tradition and a quite different sensibility to compare with the works that we are use to see in here in Spain. We will have to be patience.

Un privilegio estrenar en Croacia, un lugar con una tradición y sensibilidad distinta, sin duda, a la que en España estamos acostumbrados. Habrá que ser pacientes..
Dokville in Leuven, Belgium
What will become of us without documentaries? Places to share, to meet, to learn, to inspire and get inspired, to make broader our senses and points of views? Since the beginning of our journey we wanted to screen in Belgium, A big part of the film was recorded there. But also, the film The Price of Progress tells us about the wars and disputes between the public and private spheres in the arena of the European Institutions. Therefore, Belgium, where the hearth of Europe lives was the first and foremost place to go. The official selection of the section ConScience was a real and unexpected gift. In particular, because the prestige and the high number of films that each year compete to enter into the official selection.
Unfortunately the infamous Covid crisis came and the Festival should be delayed till the end of October. Obviously, we sincerely hope that, beyond the festival, we as society had learnt that only by a strong and international cooperation we could overcome crisis like this one as well as the incoming ones related to the global warming.
¿Qué sería del documental sin los festivales? Lugares de encuentro, de compartir, de ensanchar las miras y de gran disfrute. Desde el principio buscamos entrenar en Bélgica, donde grabamos gran parte de la película. The Price of Progress sobre todo habla de La Comunidad Económica Européa y las tensiones de poder entre la esfera pública y privada. Y Bruselas es el corazón donde más obvio se da este enfrentamiento. La selección oficial en la sección de ConScience nos cayó como un regalo inesperado si pensamos en el prestigio internacional del festival y en las miles de fantásticas películas que competían por entrar en la selección.
Por desgracia sobrevino la crisis mundial de Covid y el festival, inevitablemente se retrasó hasta el 23 de septiembre. Esperemos que para entonces, más allá del festival y lo que significa, ojalá que como sociedad hayamos aprendido que las crisis como la del Coronavirus, las derivadas de la Salud o el calentamiento climático sólo las venceremos en una acción conjunta más allá de intereses nacionales o financieros.
Docma in Madrid, Spain
To the end of the year, we were invited by our friends and colleagues of Docma to screen the film under the umbrella of Ciclo de Docma at the Borau theater of Cineteca. Warm atmosphere and wise debate were we always learn from the public. Moreover, came Tamara Montero from Justicia Alimentaria and Andrés Muñoz from Amigos de la Tierra. Have to say to all of them a big thanks for that day.
Definitely 2019 has been a great year!!
Para cerrar el año nos invitaron mis queridos compañeros de Docma a proyectar la película en el Ciclo de Docma en la Sala Borao de la Cineteca. Calor y buen debate en el que siempre aprendemos del público y sus sabias preguntas y comentarios. Tuvimos además la suerte de contar con la presencia de Tamara Montero de Justicia Alimentaria y de Andrés Muñoz de Amigos de la Tierra. Impagable..
Al final unas tradicionales cañas a la salida del debate fueron gozosas y bienvenidas.. ¡Definivamente el 19 fue un buen año!

Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos de Madrid
A bit later, the 10th of december, we were invited to the closure ceremony of the festival to screen the film at the Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos de Madrid. There I meet Toni Navarro, the Festival director and Óscar Vázquez, poet and activist.
Poco más tarde, el 10 de diciembre, nos invitan a clausurar el Festival de Derechos Humanos de Madrid. Allí conocí a Toni Navarro, el director y Óscar Vázquez, poeta y activista de largo recorrido. Fué una suerte y una inspiración. Todo ayuda a cargar fuerzasy seguir adelante. Las ideas acaban transformándose en hechos si se persiste.
ECOCUP in Moscow, Russia
Definitely the film and its message navigates well throughout different audiences. Now it brings us till Russia. The Green movement, health and climate concerns are universal. Now we are happy to have taken part with our tv 52 min version in the Official selection of the festival.
La película funciona definitivamente y nos lleva ahora a Rusia. El movimiento verde y las preocupaciones climáticas y de Salud son universales. Felices de haber participado con nuestra versión de 52 mintuos para la televisión en la Selección Oficial del festival.
Another Way Film Festival in Madrid, Spain
Just in the same week we arrived to the Film Festival that most encouraged me to identify the docs and one of best weapons to wide people minds: both politically and socially: Another Way Film Festival directed by the restless energy of Marta García Larriú and her team. There we had our Premiere in Madrid at a very special place: La Cineteca de Matadero de Madrid. I also could say it is part of my house and place of deep inspiration during so many past sessions and screenings. We show you few pictures of the event and of the unforgettable further debate. Besides it was phantastic to meet so many good and lovely friends and colleagues among the public.
Durante aquellos días me invitaron a Radio Nacional para una pequeña entrevista con Amanda Prieto y Julio Valverde en el programa Solamente una vez. Podéis escucharla aquí a partir del minuto 15.
Y en la misma semana llegamos a uno de los festivales que más me ha identificado con el documental como arma de incidencia social y política: Another Way Film Festival de la mano de la incansable Marta García Larriú a la que nunca dejaré de agradecer la energía que transmite el festival y su equipo. Allí estrenamos en La Cineteca de Matadero de Madrid. Podría decir que parte de mi casa y lugar de inspiración durante muchas sesiones pasadas. El simbolismo personal fue enorme. Os dejamos unas fotos del estreno y del inolvidable debate de después. Fue además una maravilla contar con tantos amigos conocidos en el público.. inabarcable.

SEMINCI in Valladolid, Spain
The 25th of October we has our Premiere in Spain at one of the oldest, prestigious and traditional film festival of the country: SEMINCI ( in English, Valladolid International Film Festival. Small theatres but full of challenging audience. The subsequent debate was really rich and, as unfortunately very short. Here you can take a look to the general Official Selection.
Two days after we got the great and unespected news: a special mention related to the “la Espiga Verde”. Each step was saying to us that the film was working like a Swiss watch to tell the story, as well as to provoke kind of reaction to the audience. Our first and foremost target was definitely done and this made us frankly very happy during that days.
El 25 de octubre estrenamos en España en un clásico dentro del panorama español: en la Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid. Varias salas pequeñas pero llenas de exigentes expectadores. El debate fue rico y caluroso y como empezamos a experimentar, muy corto. Aquí el palmarés completo.
Dos días después recibimos la gran noticia: una mención especial en la Espiga Verde. Cada paso significaba que el documental estaba funcionando como trasmisor de un mensaje, comunicaba con el público y generaba una reacción. Nuestro primer y principal objetivo logrado nos hizo francamente felices esos días.
DOCS MX in Ciudad de México
After 5 long years form that moment when everything started, at last we finally had our World Premiere. Thanks to Docs Mx we were selected to screen in the prestigious Cineteca Nacional de la Ciudad de México. Definitely, it could not have been better!!!
It’s difficult to describe the warm welcome of the festival, the guest team, and all the inspiring meetings that we did there. I am really thankful for the experience.
Después de 5 años desde la idea original por fin se alinéan los astros y estrenamos mundialmente el pasado 14 de octubre de 2019. Y nada mejor que en la Cineteca Nacional de Ciudad de México en la selección oficial de Global Docs del prestigiosos festival Docs Mx. ¡¡Mejor imposible!!
Es difícil describir en pocas palabras la calurosa acogida del festival, la hospitalidad del equipo y toda la inspiración de los encuentros que tuve. Estoy muy agradecido por la experiencia.
